Hi, I'm Douwe!

I am currently studying Communication & Multimedia Design at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam. I'm in my second year now and my interests lie with front-end development and visual design.

Projects

Devious Dungeon Dabloons

Making the board game "Devious Dungeon Dabloons" has been my favorite project ever. I did this in my first year of Communication and Multimedia Design, but since then nothing has topped how much fun this was. Getting to learn the machines to make all the physical products, like the characters and cards, was super fun and I couldn't have asked for a better and more hilarious team than I had.

The project lasted 3 weeks and had a focus on learning to also make physical things, and not only websites and documents. In that given time we managed to make a board game that exceeded all our expectations, and all this while having the time of our lives

Connected Products

In my second year of Communication and Multimedia Design I followed the semester-long Connected Products course and learned so much more about the entire process behind designing and making a product and, in my case, a lamp. Apart from making it and designing it in 3D CAD software, we also had to make a fitting manual that clearly showed how the lamp should be put together so that people could make it at home.

In this project I got to work with all kinds of machines like laser cutters and 3D printers, and I loved every single second of it. Getting to find out about and use different recyclable materials was lots of fun, and it really fueled my interest in product development further.
