In my second year of Communication and Multimedia Design I followed the semester-long Connected Products course and learned so much about the entire process behind designing and making a product which in my case, was a lamp. Apart from making it and designing it in 3D CAD software, we also had to make a accompanying manual that clearly showed how the lamp should be put together so that people could make it at home.
In this project I got to work with all kinds of machines like laser cutters and 3D printers, and I loved every single second of it. Getting to find out about and use different recyclable materials was lots of fun, and it really fueled my interest in sustainable product development further.
